![]() ![]() The most reliable way to get them is just hitting a broadside target amidships on the waterline with AP. ![]() Cruisers have some protection, but at the same time it still can be overpenetrated - which results in a simple overpenetration not a citadel hit. BBs tend to have their citadel well protected making it harder to hit. Quite obviously it's usually a good idea to be firing AP to score citadels - with HE, while it's not impossible, it's quite improbable to get those citadels on most targets at the tiers where those missions are available.ĭDs don't have a citadel, so you won't earn that on them. They need to get close tho, but they are pretty good.Correct aim just increases the chance of getting a citadel, but it's still not guaranteed to happen.īasic idea (which is quite self explanatory) is that you want your shell to penetrate the enemy ship deep enough and then explode inside the citadel - you can see where the citadel is in the armour viewer in port. British cruisers only fire AP, their pen angles are even better than the US, their rate of fire is insane and they have smoke. French cruisers is bassically the same as the Japanese, but starting at T7. Exception is the Moskva, wich has the best AP penetration from all current cruisers, yes, even better than the Spee, she can citadel Battleships at over 10 km, and T10 Battleships at 10 km or below. Russians have great velocity shells, their caliber low, so you need to get a bit closer. USN cruisers have great penetration angles, wich means you can fire AP at angled ships and still do a lot of damage. Japanese cruisers from the Furutaka, pack a mean punh with their high velocity AP. Germans line does great damage, but they need to be close to be consistent, they are brawlers. Just want decent range and a high chance of AP penetration with high damage Pretty much all T10 cruisers can hit pretty hard with their AP. Originally posted by Zabu:Torps are less important. ![]()
